Clinicians are increasingly using their mobile devices, especially tablets at practices for the rapid, secure and amicable electronic health records\u2019 (EHRs\u2019) usage, storage and exchange.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><b>Insights into the Penchant for Tablets<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It\u2019s a trendy \u2018spectator sport\u2019 among new practices and the mobile purveyors to fathom why physicians are utilizing their tablets. Two recent reports, \u201c<em>Mobile Usage in the Medical Space 2013\u2033 and \u201cTablet Usage by Physicians 2013<\/em>\u2033 from <strong>American EHR Partners based on the survey of about 1,400 physicians, underscored that tablets are more useful than smartphones for doctors using EHRs.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The doctors use their tablets in the clinical settings for performing the following activities :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1. Sending and receiving e-mails (52.4 percent);<\/li>\n<li>2.\u00a0<a title=\"Physicians EHR \" href=\"https:\/\/www.medicalbillingstar.com\/blog\/dont-fumble-your-way-through-ehr-implementation\/\">Accessing electronic health records<\/a> (EHRs) (50.6 percent);<\/li>\n<li>3. Retrieving diagnostic information (41.7 percent);<\/li>\n<li>4. Research data about drugs (33.3 percent);<\/li>\n<li>5. Keeping abreast with medical field through journals and articles (29.8 percent).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><b>Snapshots on Tablet Usage in Healthcare Space<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>1. Physicians use <strong>Epocrates<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, Medscape<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, Up To Date<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, MedCalc<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, and Skyscape<sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong> <strong>as the top five tablet apps in their medical practices.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>2. The users of EHR are hanging about<\/strong> <strong>25 hours per week on their tablet device, with a better portion of time used up on business (59 percent) than for personal points (41%).<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>5. With an increased clinical and healthcare research funding, the research about medications is escalating.<strong> About 33 percent of EHR users employ a tablet to research medications every day<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>6. About 70 percent of the physicians are tablet users who access EHR through password.<\/li>\n<li>7.
